It works with an app that connects to the motor inside, and there are two modes : one where the piano plays on its own and the keys move. It's magic !

Today (and those last days), I got to build the most amazing Lego set in the world <3 And I'm taking you on this wonderful journey of building, discovery, fun and music, but especially building.
It comes in a giant box (Tomoyo the sabre-toothed tiger for scale) (Tomoyo is a bit longer than my hand) (and I have normalish-hands, maybe a little small) (you get my drift)
There are around 35 bags of pieces inside. The booklet is no booklet, it's a whole-ass book with 500 pages and 840 steps. Agh...
First bags ! That doesn't look like a piano yet. More like some kind of weird castle. A weird castle with MOTOR ! Yes, it does have a motor. I have to say that I love that the pieces are color-coded. Makes everything easier. Still didn't stop me from putting the gears backwards. Oh well.
It's either a grand piano, or some kind of weird organ / castle / factory mash.
It's starting to look like something that could maybe become a grand piano. At one point. This is where I stopped for the first night. You can see that Tomoyo is ready to go to bed.
The strings are in ! And it also doubles as a sabre-toothed tiger trap, so that's neat.
As every cat in the world, Tomoyo loves climbing on pianos. Luckily, that one isn't too big.
What has three legs and lies on its back like some kind of weird, lacquered turtle ? This piano !
We can still see you, Tomoyo.
And now, the keys. Long, long, long, 25 keys. Twenty-five. TWENTY-FIVE. Yeah, that took some time.
Now that's what I call a piano ! An incomplete piano, of course. But at last, it's looking like what it's supposed to look !
(How do you call a miniature grand piano ? A petit piano ?)

End of day two ! Me too, Tomoyo, me too...
And the music goes on ! Still doubles as a tiger trap, I see...
And there we are !! Total : 9 hours to build it, 3662 pieces in 35 different bags, for a piano that barely fits inside a Kallax shelf. It also weights 4 kg, so it's definitely a nice little beast.
It's so beautiful ! (and huge ! It's almost 40 cm wide !) I absolutely love it.
The details are astonishing, it's so beautifully designed.
Also, it plays music ! But I'll post the videos separately. For now, behold, the mighty, awesome, beautiful petite grand piano !

I almost forgot about Courfius week ! So here is just a little something for those two cutiepies. Courf COULD have gone with Enjy or 'Ferre, but he just had to stay and "help" Marius study. After all, he makes a nice book rest.

Also they are at Marius' place, and he only has those old mustard glasses with cartoon characters on them. He loves them still.
For my sister-in-law's birthday, I wanted to draw some horses since she loves horses. And me being... well, me, I made them prehistoric horses, taking inspiration from the so lovely painted horses in the Lascaux caves. Behold, the mighty prehistoric potatoes frolicking around as they probably did because they may have been potatoes, but they were also adorable horses. And yes, she did like them :D
Like everyone, I'm very sad about Sam Neill's passing. He may not have started my passion for dinosaurs, but he certainly owned the role that helped a lot of people discover and love them. Could we have had a better Alan ? I don't think so. Chemistry, wit, charm, and that determination that made him such a badass. He was the best fit and I hope he'll be remembered for years and years, for this role and all the others. Goodbye, Mr Neill, and of course, thank you.
I almost forgot to post the drawing for JMB week ! That would have been a shame because I had lots of fun drawing this.
The song is a children song here in France, the kind where you need to find a word of expression starting with the last sound of the last word. (Trois p'tits chats => chapeau d'paille => Paillasson etc...). I don't know, it just popped in my head.

I’m kinda surprised that nalbinding isn’t as popular as crochet and knitting tbh because it has an even lower barrier of entry tools wise and unlike crochet and knitting it makes fabric that you can cut.
I guess it’s because it’s slower or something.
Nalbinding aka needle binding is when you use yarn and a big sewing needle to make fabric btw
It also has a lot of different kinds of stitches you can do that make different densities of fabric.
Some people even make rugs.
I feel like part of it might be casual people are generally aware of the existence of crochet and knitting, even if they don’t know very much about either, but have never heard of nalbinding
Yeah I hadn’t heard of it until recently and I ordered a big bone needle for myself to try it out and that should be arriving soon.
I was surprised that I’d never heard of it though. It’s older than knitting and crocheting and even though it’s been done all over the world it’s super relevant to Nordic culture and my grandmother and I are both into keeping in touch with our roots a bit so I’m surprised I’ve never heard of it.
It seems like the sort of thing that would be popular even if not as popular as crocheting and knitting, considering the low barrier of entry.
You also don’t need a bunch of different sized needles for nalbinding or whatever. The size of the stitch is controlled either completely freehand or by pulling it against one of your fingers. Most people who have a lot of nalbinding needles seem to either have tried out wood, bone, and metal ones to see which kind they liked or they enjoy carving wood or bone and like making their own needles as an extra hobby.
It’s also a lot easier to freehand and adjust as you go than crochet or knitting and you mostly go by inches instead of rows and number of stitches so a large number of accessories like stitch markers or whatever isn’t really necessary.
Maybe the lack of accessories also makes it unpopular idk. People do like collecting things in their nests.
I've been wanting to do so, I cannot find anyone who can teach me, and any books I can find on it are Ass in the Visual Learning department. Otherwise I'd be making the hell outta some nalbinded fabric

In order to have access to any sort of thing dubbed mature, and We haveALL seen what they think is mature, Everything from a black and white photo of a black woman's arm, to posts about IUD recalls, to a nude painted by a 17th century artist, to anything involving the word Trans; you have to send your personal information to a third party site that WILL get hacked, and you will be doxxed. And they can say "Oh shit, well it wasn't us who sent your name address and gender identity to Moldovan teenagers, here's a couple extra minutes in the ball pit.
That's bad enough!!!!!!!! But the entire idea of needing permission from state authorities to access anything labeled mature by our friendly AI overlords is some fucking Boll shit. Die Gedenken Sind Frie baby. This is all a reaction to people getting uppity about their lowly lowly rights and is being propped up by the same bad actors tht have made life unlivable. Fuck that shit.
