"I should have paid a little more attention whenever Dad made me and my brothers watch him fix up the car."
Barbra Armstrong stood in front of her open hood of her red Volkswagen Bug with a flashlight in hand as she looked down at the engine completely unsure as to why her car refused to start. She glanced up and her eyes darted around the thick woods that her car decided to give up in. There was something strange and familiar about where they stood but she really couldn't put her finger on it. She was fairly certain that she hadn't been to any part of this region of Virginia. Actually, as she thought about it, her mother and father made it a point to make sure their travels never headed this far east in the state.
"Maybe it needs gas," Sophie Ann's voice had brought Babs out of her musing and forced the young brunette to stand on her toes to look over the hood lip to see her fellow witch drumming her fingers against the steering wheel. "The map says there is a town not too far ahead. A town means gas station."
Barbra slammed the hood shut and let out a soft sigh. SJ, the mastermind behind this whole roadtrip, leaned against the side of the hood and shrugged, "one of us can walk ahead and see we can get some help."
Barbra shook her head, "we're not splitting up in here. We'll go."
Barbra flashed her light down the road before she tilted her head slightly for other two to follow. With their arms linked, the three girls made their way down the pavement before them. "What sort of name is Mystic Falls," SJ spoke up as they started to make their way closer to the main part of town.
