Updated Esmeralda Family Designs!

Madame Rousseau’s troupe of ne’re-do-wells!

I updated some of their looks (mainly Gigi and Sacha) so they look a little more cohesive,

Up next are our Circus Performers!

- Genevieve (Gigi): A beautiful and cold girl. She is the circus’ dancer! While she had never truly wanted to join the circus, she was persuaded by her older brother Henri to come with him. It was there she met Sacha the strongman and grew quite infatuated with him. Eventually they started a relationship, but it might not be as perfect as Gigi wanted…

-Sacha: The Strongman! He joined the circus while Madame Rousseau was touring in Spain, unable to resist the woman’s promises of fame and fortune. Sacha is a proud man with a short temper and a rather nasty mean streak. He is often found either training or tormenting the other circus performers, especially Henri. He is in a relationship with Gigi, though his feelings are only skin deep, mostly finding the dancer annoying.

- Chochette: No one truly knows where the little jester came from, they just appeared at the circus one night and they’ve been Rousseau’s little purse dog ever since. Chochette loves playing pranks on people and spying for Madame Rousseau. As their name suggests, the jester is an absolute crybaby when it comes to any kind of criticism or confrontation, easily breaking down into tantrums and screaming fits.

- Henri: The beast master of the circus! Henri is the older brother of Gigi and is the one in charge of the animals. While not outright malicious and hostile like the others, he is a bit of a coward and folds easily to orders just so he won’t get bullied. Henri has a strong infatuation with Madame Rousseau, which makes it easy for her to manipulate him. His best quality is his love for the animals, them being the only reason he ever disobeys Rousseau’s orders. The ringmaster wants brutal viscous beasts for her circus, including Henri’s beloved dog Leo, but Henri knows that he’d have to mistreat the animals to get what Rousseau wants. The only person he truly gets along with at the circus is Marjorie, the pair often taking care of the animals together while Henri complains about Sacha’s bullying.

- Leo: The Goodest boy. An absolutely lump of a dog that hasn’t a single viscous bone in his body as much as Henri tries to train it into him. He loves Marjorie and if he isn’t with his master, he’s trailing behind the scarred girl, his tail wagging away.

I was studying Disney concept art and was like “….i can do that” so have our main 3 in lil lineart line ups!

Updated Quasi’s design for my fan sequel! I’m really happy with how he came out :3

I’m really happy with his slightly more mature yet slightly awkward look here. He’s still got a lot of mental growth to go through so I gave him some scruffy chin hair and longer hair to show he’s going through a sort of healing “puberty” from his trauma. Idk if that makes sense but 🤷

Designs may change but also I’m feeling like these are pretty solid for my main 3 characters. I might fiddle with the secondary and tertiary characters, but maybe not who knoooows!
