when jerry was first learning how to be a cg he was kinda surprise the first time E had a tummy ache and started panicking bc when he gave baby e something to soothe his belly baby would spit up or have a messy diaper but jerry eventually learned that it was best to give baby some water and something light like some crackers -that he obviously hates-
You and E knew Jerry would be the acting CG on tour so a few weeks before another stretch of E's tour, Jerry came over and took over for the night as acting CG so that if any problems arose, you would tell him how to handle things and you and Jerry could talk through everything that he has questions about.
Jerry never knew that E would get upset stomachs because he's used to E eating absolutely everything Jerry gives him. So he's a bit flabbergasted when E comes to you for a cuddle complaining his tummy hurts. You can see the panic arise in Jerry's eyes.
"Yeah baby? Your tummy hurts?" Elvis nods, cuddling closer into your side as you give Jerry a concerned knowing look over El's head. "You feel pukey baby?" You ask, getting ready to catch vomit the next time E opens his mouth. "Nnnnngh." Elvis just groans and curls tighter into a ball. Jerry looks at you, unsure what to do. You shrug as if to say, "wait and see"
You wait it out with Jerry and eventually Elvis's face pales and you panic, trying to keep him from flopping forward as he starts to gag. "Jerry, get me a bucket or a bowl! Hurry!" And Jerry is scared because you're panicking and you rarely panic when it comes to Elvis.
He shoves a bag under Elvis's chin just in time for him to throw up into it. "There you go, lovie. Doing so good." When Elvis slows down, he lifts his chin out of the bag, looking to you for comfort. "M-Mommy, owie." Baby was breaking your heart. You looked to Jerry and found pure guilt just written all over his face.
"I know baby, I know. You think you're done?" He nodded, pushing his face into your chest, just wanting his momma to help him feel better. You adjusted E so that he could lay better in your lap. "It's okay baby. Let's go get you changed okay?"
You didn't really want to get puked on but you had to hold him close for his comfort so you mentally sacrificed what you were wearing for his comfort. You held him closed, rubbing his back as Jerry started up the bath while you went to pick some jammies for him that were sure were going to be puked on again tonight.
A few hours later, E was refusing to go down. You were pretty sure it wasn't from the stomach pain, more from the fear of puking in his sleep. So all three of you were laying on the couch cuddled up together watching a Disney movie.
"Mama, scary." Elvis whimpered, leaning on your shoulder, knuckling his eye cutely. You lean down and kiss Elvis's hair. "I know sweetie, but mama won't let anything happen to you and Jer's here too okay, you're going to be okay, baby. Your belly will feel better soon." Elvis whined again and pushed his face into your shoulder.
Jerry got up wordlessly and went into the kitchen. He came back with a sleeve of fresh cracker and an ice cold gingerale.
"Here baby, will you try this for me? It'll help your tummy." Jerry asked, crouching down to Elvis's level on the couch, putting the gingerale on the coffee table and offering the crackers to Elvis. Elvis eyed the package. He was scared of it hurting his tummy even more. He eyed the package and then looked to you, wondering if you thought it was okay to eat. Because surely you wouldn't make him eat it if it was gonna hurt his belly, right?
"Go on, baby. It's light, it'll help your tummy feel better. Just try one and if you don't like it, you don't have to have anymore, promise."
Elvis finally decides to nibble on a cracker. He looks up at Jerry as he eats it giving him a look like, "it's not bad...'' Jerry picks up the soda can offering it to E. "Here, baby try this, the bubbles will help your tum." E is immediately intrigued by the word, bubbles. You hear him give a small "ooh" before taking a healthy sip. It quells his roiling upset belly. E smiles up at Jerry, cuddling tighter into his mama. "There, you go, just nibble and sip, bubba."
I finally wrote something! <3
