I went to a reptile show today with full intention of getting a Green Tree Python. I mentioned it as I went to different tables and everyone had the same reaction : incredulous and snarky. It kind of made me worry. One breeder had four GTPs that were maybe 6 months and were in bad shape. When I mentioned one had a large abnormal growth on its eye, I was brushed off. They also warned they are "look dont touch" and had them preset to travel. There are some at my local pet store that are gorgeous, but also renoun assholes. Sooooo I went to the legless lizard table. They were out, but had several species of snakes, including a GTP. I asked "is he mean and nippy?" The guy looked at me, smiled, and said "not at all!" Then plucked up the snake and put it on my hand. It got settled with zero aggression. He did have stuck shed, but Kansas has had weird humidity latley. I was done and he was put back, again without fuss. Like that, he was mine.
