“The best teachers are those who show you where to look but don’t tell you where to see” . 6 years of studying yoga, I’ve been fortunate enough to come across some great teachers. But I’ve always read/heard about yogis, especially Ashtanga students, that have a deep connection with their teachers. And although I have a few favourite teachers that I keep going back to, I’ve never had that yogi “guru connection” before. . Since I decided to dive into Ashtanga, I’ve been trying to find a Mysore teacher that resonates with me. And I’m so glad @hanadoesyoga introduced me to the Yoga Shala (thank you @hanadoesyoga!) Only 3 Mysore sessions in and I have learnt so so much! Not necessarily about alignment, but mostly on awareness. And suddenly I understand what these Ashtanga students have been talking about... that student-teacher connection . People have asked me how they can start yoga. And my answer is always going to be the same - start by going to a class, and keep showing up. Don’t worry about finding the perfect guru. When you’re ready, it’ll find it’s way to you (took me 6 years!) . . . . . #gratefulyogi #pinchamayurasana #pinchamayurasanavariation #lotuslegs #padmasana #ashtangajourney #pincha #ashtangalove #ashtangayoga #yogateacher #yogalove #yogaeveryblessedday #ashtangapractice #yogapractice #strongyogi #yogaarmbalance #armbalance #practiceandalliscoming #practicepracticepractice #keeppracticing #igyogacommunity #yogisofig #igyoga #practiceawareness #babycrow #babycrowvariation #bakasanavariation #yogainspiration
