We're in New Orleans for the weekend
…visiting J before she heads to Central America for a while.
Last night we went to Bacchanal, and were both pretty into people bringing us delicious fancy food in a really not -pretentious setting. Like so much so that it took til my *second* bite to realize I was eating little bites of straight butter from the bread and butter plate (topped with sal gris and truffle oil! It was *like* a food!), not the grilled halloumi we’d ordered. I just thought the cheese was super creamy.
B kicked her shoes off outside, and the server gave her a gentle warning that ‘this is where wine glasses go to die. In the daytime the whole ground just kinda sparkles’. Plus there’s a wine and cheese shop in the front, for picking out your drinks and snacks. A++, would order hanger steak from a window again.

Trying to figure out how to get a bunch of cell phone pictures of my last five sotd's onto here. In the meantime, here's a list of foods I ate in the span of about two hours today: Seafood paella, a mussel, a crawfish, goat cheese, gorgonzola, lobster gazpacho, clam bake, 'arroz,' ratatouille, veggie pizza, three tiny slices of thinly sliced cured meats that I couldn't pronounce, mushroom polenta, lobster corn chowder, seviche, creamed leeks with lobster, a crab leg, chocolate creme brulee, berries and chocolate cream in a tiny chocolate cup, passion fruit cheesecake, a key lime tart, and mango pudding
