“You’re not opening the bridge.” Thor looks at Heimdall in surprise as he adjusts the cloak on his shoulders. The Gatekeeper merely tilts his head in thought before speaking in his usual grave tone.
“James Barnes is still in great need.”
He says no more than that. Most likely this is to avoid violating commands from Odin about meddling. Thor is under no such obligations, however. “Can you see him?”
“I can.”
“It would be unfortunate if you accidentally placed me near him.”
“Indeed.”
The Bifrost deposits him perhaps ten paces from his former teammate. Calmly, Thor raises his hands, just to make sure he knows this is not a visit with hostile intentions. “It’s been a long time,” he says simply.
