OSHAWA -- Derek Giberson from the Back Door Mission in Oshawa spoke to guests outside of the new lockers that have been placed in front of Simcoe Street United Church, during a ribbon cutting ceremony of the Keepers Project. The Keepers Project is a joint effort of Spirit Alive Outreach Ministry, and Back Door Mission for the Relief of Poverty. There are 12 lockers that will be used by people without a home, to store their belongings. The lockers are solar powered, and have a USB port to charge their phones. There is also a mail slot so the users of the locker are able to receive mail.
