Day 2 - Prompt 7 - Working Retail/Restaurant
Len looked up from the counter as Barry walked into the bakery. “Hello, Barry.”
“Hi, Len.” Barry greeted, handing him a vase of pink and red roses. “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
Len blinked, taking the vase. “But I thought- you and Iris…?”
“That’s what me and Iris thought about you and Mick.” Barry smiled shyly. “Until he turned up yesterday with cupcakes for her.”
“The rose cupcakes?” Len asked.
“Yeah, she loved them.” Barry nodded. “And Mick said you liked the floral arrangements we made for the holidays, so-”
“You made me a Valentine’s one?” Len grinned.
“Yeah.” Barry blushed. “So, um… Would you like to have dinner this evening?”
“I’d love to.”
