Types Of Backpack Wearers//
Old: This person has had the same backpack forever. They could get a new one if they wanted to, but there’s something special about this backpack to this person. You can see some small holes in the fabric; it’s character being added. This person probably cares very much about treausured time and keeping history.
Heavy: How can this bag even carry half of the stuff inside? You swear their backpack gets bigger everyday. It’s almost guaranteed that that backpack could’ve only carried 1 Harry Potter book when they first got it. But now, that person gets a whole workout to lift that backpack. Seriously, their probably the student who keeps a lot of unnecessary items at hand at all times, but to them, it needs to be there or they feel uncomfortable. Maybe every single worksheet they’ve gotten this year is just in there waiting to be cleaned out, not that this person is always lazy or anything, the weight just feels comfortable and familiar.
Shoulder: It doesn’t matter if the bag was meant to be over the shoulder or not, they still sling the backpack across the same shoulder (normally of their dominant arm). Their really cool and nonchalant about most things, and that backpack just adds on to the vibe. If they ever used both straps of a backpack, they’d probably look so unusually uptight that it would unsettle everyone who knows this person.
Pins/Patches: Who doesn’t love someone who wears their pin and patch collection around? You can tell from the assortment of pins and patches what fandoms or aesthetics they’re into, but also that they might like to have an interesting and personalized feel to they’re backpack. This person has been around once before and has seen that at some point, you have the same accessory as someone else. So what’s a better way to fix that? Personalizing, of course! It’s probably served well as a conversation starter and flag to show who they are pretty well, but still leaving someone room to figure them out. They might be a little bit awkward or shy, but it can be easier to bond over something small to them.
Empty: Even when they have nothing in they’re backpack, it’ll be carried. They probably forget things they need and maybe a bit spaced out from time to time. If they ever come across something they want to keep, that item has one of two options if there isn’t already in a grocery bag: Hand/arm or the bottom of the backpack. About 75%, it’s just carried by hand. They probably forget about the backpack they carry. The backpack looks pretty new, basically the straight out of the store feel; pretty flattened, probably still has zipties on the zippers of pockets, and kinda give off that plastic smell.
