Help Emily, Celeste, Patrick, and Rupert take a stand for young refugees around the world by living out of their backpack with nothing but the essentials for 40 hours.

Hey fellow tumblr users, As you probably guessed, I'm participating in the 40 hour famine this year from 11-13 August. But this year, its unlike anything that has been done. This year, world vision has created a challenge to do instead: the backpack challenge. What you are required to do is live out of your backpack for the 40 hours, bringing items according to the guidelines on the website, and only one item of your choice to bring a long. Every couple of hours, challenges will be relayed to help us live out the circumstances that people who are displaced have to deal with. With every minute, 24 people are displaced, having to run away with only what they can bring in a backpack for their own safety, for their lives. They have to travel long distances on foot, sleeping on the dirt floor because they need to save their money. It's 2017 and people are still living like this. Progress is being made to help end poverty, but it's present, and it's still affecting people all over the world. What I'm asking to you to do is to help make an impact. To please donate money to help end poverty. It doesn't have to much: just $27 could provide food for a displaced child for a whole month.
