Because a lot of these guys are memorable as all hell :P Under the cut because long, and possible slight spoilers for bits and pieces of the book ^^;
Because Streamer Infrared is mildly hopeless with tech (ironically), he has someone handling all the tech stuff while he does the streaming—haven’t decided if this is an OC or a canon character yet. His personality in my head is very similar to Iono from Pokémon XD
(Despite this, the technical issues on his streams are a meme among his fanbase :P)
The Red Hot Couple’s names are Candy and Merlot, both shades of red. Candy is a perky go-getter while Merlot is more reserved. They are also amazingly affectionate in public and have a talent for making everyone else feel awkward to be around them.
Tourist Tulip and Backpacker Bisque are cousins, because ya can’t give ‘em the same icon and expect me not to do something with it :P
Ex-Husband Earthtone is claustrophobic. Comes with being buried alive :P Understandably, guy does not like being around Obsidian—he’s not going to try to murder her himself, he just wants her as far away from him as humanly possible at all times. Can you blame him?
Crime Queen Caramel’s rivalry with Obsidian is mostly one-sided on her part—Obsidian hardly registers her existence. I HC her as being somewhat younger, probably mid-to-late twenties to Obsidian’s mid-to-late thirties. (Also maybe ship her and Earthtone a bit. They can bond over their mutual issues with Sid :D)
She also, alas, is not quite as successful in writing as she believes herself to be—not a bad author, just easily overshadowed. Which is part of her fierce (one-sided) resentment I mean rivalry :P
Sea Captain Marigold wears an eyepatch. Her eyes are perfectly fine, she just does it for the aesthetic.
Marigold and First Mate Melon are wlw/mlm solidarity becaaaaaause I say so :V
Feral Child Olivine’s speaking skills are incredibly limited; I HC her statements to simply be a matter of puzzle convenience, and in-universe she doesn’t talk at all. Following Adventure Four, Logico and Irratino basically pulled her out of Drakonia and sent her somewhere to re-acclimate to society.
Skull Collector Bleach has developed the very specific aesthetic in my mind of “cross between goth and Dia de los Muertos”. Like I said. Very specific :P
Struggling Actor Sienna is an insomniac, something possibly born out of his lack of luck in landing jobs. I think he and Logico would get along, they’re both similar levels of perpetually tired and grumpy :P
Sienna and Abalone were in the same drama club back in high school. Having remembered how shy she was back then, he’s a little bit envious that she’s an A-lister now.
Lab Tech Greige and Bookseller Beige are twins. (Hey, they have similar names and the same hair/eye colors XD)
Black Cat Midnight Baby belongs to Hedge Witch Skobeloff. (Skobeloff. It sounds like the main villain of an epic fantasy and yet it’s apparently an actual, real color.)
TANGENTIALLY RELATED, none of the suspects in Adventure Seven were actually in the coven to do magic. They just joined for the free snacks. Skobeloff was not pleased.
Insurance Agent Isabelline is…
Actually, I’m not gonna say what Isabelline is. That’s a surprise tool for later. 😉
(I can say one thing, though. The book mentions in a one-off line that she and Major Red were childhood friends. This implies she grew up in Drakonia.)
(In my verse, her parents fled to Drakonia because it was the safer option compared to where she originally came from.)
