as the moments ticked by, kaia feared she'd leave without speaking to him. and if that happened, she knew it would make her that much more determined to be memorable the next time she was out on her balcony. with her phone in hand, she scrolled through emails, adding meetings to her calendar and notes for her day, very much aware of him. just when all hope was lost, she heard him clear his throat and then his voice in the next moment. slowly, she turned towards him, face impassive. her head tilted to the side as he asked about where she lived, and her eyebrows knit together in mock-confusion. then, as if she had a light bulb moment, her face broke out in a grin and she nodded. "yes! you have." then, leaning forward, she whispered just loud enough for him to hear, "you probably don't recognize me without a shirt." pulling back with a smirk, she heard her name and walked forward, grabbing her drink. "it's okay," she told the unidentified male, "i know you're looking when i'm out there. i want you to see. i hope the show is good." and with that she makes her way towards the exit, ever curious if he'd follow or wait until her next performance.
