@backtothcrcmcdy sent: "Hey Rose," Tom says as he steps inside the Oh Deer Diner, wiping his wet shoes on the mat before walking further inside. It's been raining all day, a heavy winter storm rushing over the small town, overturning boats that hadn't been moored properly. That had been Tim's job for the morning, bringing those all in safely, and now he's sweaty, rain slicked, exhausted, and ready for one hell of a cup of coffee.
Rose has always been a bit eccentric for as long as he's known her, but he doesn't like the way the town talks about her, like she's crazy or weird. Not that she seems to mind much, if she even knows.
Carefully, he removes his hat and tips the water that had gathered in it on the pavement outside, giving it a few good shakes before tucking it under his arm. "Hope you don't mind a wet officer taking refuge here. I smelled the coffee and pie from the docks and couldn't resist stopping in." As he speaks, he sheds his jacket and hangs it on the coat rack by the door, letting the towel beneath it catch the rainwater that drips from it." You doin' alright?"
(I wasn't sure who you wanted, so here's Tim for Rose! From @backtothcrcmcdy )
it was a dark and stormy day, just like the start of any good mystery, but rather than embarking on a case ( curling up with one of her favorite books, of course. ) she was refilling coffees and stocking the dessert case with one eye on the clock. business was slow enough by bright falls standards that each minute felt like an hour.
' just fine, sheriff! ' the waitress managed with her signature peppiness, glancing away from the mounted television. with the weather, the signal had been weak and flickering most of the day.
' if it's pie you're looking for, today we've got cherry, cinnamon apple, and lemon meringue. and seeing as you're one of the few people to come in today, i'll make sure you get an extra big slice. ' most of them were still untouched, seeing as no one wanted to brave the half flooded, sometimes icy roads today. '
