Candied Bacon Butter is a sweet and savory spread that adds a delicious twist to your cornbread. The combination of crispy candied bacon and creamy butter is simply irresistible. Whether you use it as a topping or a spread, it will elevate your cornbread experience to a whole new level.
Ingredients: 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened. 4 strips of thick-cut bacon. 1/4 cup brown sugar. 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional. Warm cornbread, for serving.
Instructions: Set the oven temperature to 375F 190C. Arrange the bacon strips onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Evenly distribute the brown sugar on top of the bacon slices. Add a little cayenne pepper to the bacon if you enjoy a little heat. Bake the bacon for 15 to 20 minutes, or until it's crispy and caramelized, in a preheated oven. After taking the bacon out of the oven, allow it to cool for a short while. After the bacon has cooled a little, crumble it into small pieces or chop it finely. Place the candied bacon bits and the softened butter in a mixing bowl. Stir until the bacon is mixed into the butter all the way through. For a more elegant presentation, you can use plastic wrap to form the candied bacon butter into a log or transfer it to a serving dish. Put the butter in the fridge for one hour or until it solidifies. Enjoy the warm cornbread with the candied bacon butter!
