Indulge in the sweet and salty flavors of candied bacon, maple syrup, and crunchy walnuts in this creamy ice cream.
Ingredients: 1 cup heavy cream. 1 cup whole milk. 3/4 cup maple syrup. 1/2 cup chopped candied bacon. 1/2 cup chopped walnuts. 3 egg yolks. 1/4 cup granulated sugar.
Instructions: In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and maple syrup. Heat over medium-low heat until it reaches a simmer. In a separate bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until light and fluffy. Gradually pour the hot cream mixture into the egg yolks while whisking continuously to temper the eggs. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until it thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon. Remove from heat and let cool completely. Once cooled, churn the mixture in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer's instructions. During the last few minutes of churning, add in the chopped candied bacon and walnuts. Transfer the churned ice cream into a container and freeze until firm. Serve and enjoy!
