How necessary is it to know the Mega-man and Sonic cross-over in order to read #252 and beyond? It seems like a big pill to swallow, and wanna know if your meant to read it to understand the future or the comic.

To my knowledge it’s not necessary. It’s a very fun read, but all you really need to know is that Sonic’s universe ends up getting reset

For that matter, even though the crossover is canon to both comics, Sonic and Mega Man’s worlds are altered by Timespace Shenanigans during the arc to make them temporarily match their game counterparts. The Freedom Fighters are absent on Sonic’s side, while Mega Man’s side skipped ahead eight games so that the full lineup of classic series robots could be there
