BAD APPLE!! being played on УВБ-76/Buzzer Russian military frequency
listening to bad apple (25ji ver) for 3 hours does things to you
i also made an alt with the lyrics to bad apple
i was making fun of his very white lips in discord which spurred this abomination
Bad Apple!! and its Applicability to Other Shows
So I've been listening quite a bit to the following song lately:
Originating as an expansion from a Touhou song, the lyrics (or at least the most popular English translation of them) have a strong duality motif, with the words black and white being the most prominent words in the text. To elaborate, the song describes a dilemma of the narrator dealing with their suffering:
Black to remain stagnant, holding on to their pain. White to change themselves, for better or worse.
Needless to say, the lyrics have made me think of applying the song to some of my favorites--
Hazbin Hotel
Virtue vs Vice. Redemption is the main theme of the show thanks to the inciting plan of main character Charlie, and we see the Sinners reacting to the surging of this very concept. From Angel Dust and his interest in bettering his life (white) to Alastor and his indulgence in his selfish desires (black).
Helluva Boss
Love vs Hate. It's especially obvious in the love story between Blitzo and Stolas, as they start off simultaneously very similar and very different. The key difference between them becomes Blitzo's attempts at repulsing others away (black) and Stolas' well-meaning but impulsive pursuit of happiness (white).
The Amazing Digital Circus
Humanity vs Loss. We see how the players deal with being trapped in the Circus for who knows how long, some coping better than others. Jax embraces his archetype and the rules of the world at the risk of bringing his own downfall (black), while everyone else does their part in treating the other players like the humans they really are (white).
That's the way I see it all, anyway. Feel free to chime in with your own thoughts.
P.S. Special bias to Helluva Boss because Cristina Vee, who does vocals in the linked version of Bad Apple!!, voices Verosika in the show.
