Helluva boss redesign Blitz.
So I finally got around to doing the other show even if I do think it’s a lot better than hazbin doesn’t mean they’re still problems that I want to work on in my own writing exercise and for my first victim I chose Blitz.
I frankly find his character annoying, I know he’s intentionally meant to be this impulsive jackass but it gets to a point where it’s just irritating if it wasn’t for his relationship problems he would be a very boring character that. I want hit with a frying pan to make him shut up doesn’t help that his voice actor has also done some very question things that I do not condone in anyway which makes me view him with more of a sour tone.
So I told him down making his personality and designed more of a sloppy sketchy car salesman or that weird uncle that has 1 million stories about the crazy shit he has done. He’s very much a average Joe. He doesn’t have a lot of money and it shows I actually like his design but I think it’s a little too fantastical for a character that is meant to be very poor and marginalise who can’t afford nice robes and fancy looking gloves so I just made him normal which also adds to the comedy of the show with a bunch of deplorable assassins treating their job like it’s nothing. He’s very greedy and slimy sharp with his tongue and his claws but with a secret caring side it only really comes out for his daughter and occasionally Fizz.
Not to get too much into the story, but I want the show to be way more of a comedy with emotional moments and a tiny bit of serialisation mostly for character arcs I want to be very wacky edgy and stupid characters getting into crazy scenarios with a lot of political commentary around discrimination and capitalism. More in the vein of classic adult swim shows like Aqua teen, adventure brothers and moral orel. Not the overly dramatic will they won’t they were rom com it has turned into and I actually like that stuff and I think it’s gotten way too out of hand the Bigfoot s short should’ve been an early episode.

talking about charlie triggered an unskippable cutscene sorry guys i have to talk about blitz now. yes he is an asshole yes he fucking sucks yes he's all the bad things everyone has accused him of. but like also... he's also kind. he's also compassionate at times, he also has a big heart. i am absolutely not an apologist, i just think his character is very very complex and pushing him into boxes isn't helpful. now it has been a while since i watched helluva so i might be wrong about some things. this is just how i see him. he is traumatized, his concept of self-worth is tied to how useful he is to other people. everything is a façade. we see this in the last few episodes of s2. absolute masterpieces those episodes. i have rewatched them like twice which is a lot for my standards. so anyway. blitz is just a man as odysseus puts it. i loved that he learned how to be soft, how to be gentle. yes, he was fucking horrible to stolas. but tbh he was kinda justified in his outbursts. and that kinda is doing a lot of work there. those told us more about blitz than stolas. also stolas is my favorite character so don't you dare say anything bad about him. in mastermind, we see stolas give up his status to save blitz. and we have seen stolas be a simp for blitz in private but blitz doesn't know that. he still thinks stolas just wants him for the sex. but in mastermind, it's confirmed for him that stolas loves him because he sacrificed his status. remember that blitz thought stolas was looking down on him and treating him like a toy because he was a prince. by giving up that title, stolas made sure that blitz knew. and as soon as he let himself accept it, blitz loved him back. i can't wait for s3

I love inheriting the obsessions of my favourite characters.
I didn't care much for horses before Blitzø, but now I have a horse key chain that looks like Spirit
and it makes me smile because it reminds me of him <3
