BadBoy Baby Bloo
Moonlit
Chapter 1
Sapphire made her way through the crowd of people who had come to witness the live performance of a young artist named Marteen.
He was a huge hit among the younger demographic so it was only right that she and her business partner would arrange for him to perform. She was amazed at how many people had actually shown up. Moonlit always had a full house but they had surely reached capacity on tonight and there were still people fighting to make their way in.
“Ma'am, I don't think we can let anyone else in.” One of the security guards stopped her.
Sapphire took a look around. There wasn't an empty spot on the dance floor.
“Well do your job then. No more people unless others start to leave.” She nodded and walked away.
She smiled to herself. She was absolutely proud of how big her night club had gotten. She never imagined that she and her best friend would turn nothing into something but she assumed that hard work did pay off sometimes. Dreams really did come true.
The bass boomed. Their DJ was always on point and knew just how to keep the crowd interested. She walked upstairs to the VIP section so she could greet the special guest of the night. She was trying to wait it out so that she and Riley could talk to him together but she was running late and she didn't want to keep Marteen and his people waiting.
You know you're the reason we're late, right?” Riley rolled her eyes as she sped through the streets of Vegas trying to make it to the club. Sapphire had already been blowing up her phone.
“I mean, if I'm going to get a chance to meet Marteen I need to look drop dead gorgeous. Beauty takes time.” Chaeyoung fixed a loose curl as she stared at herself in the mirror.
Riley exhaled loudly. “The way I'm feeling you might not meet him tonight.”
Chaeyoung rolled her eyes and crossed her arms. “Isn't this like my graduation gift?”
“You haven't even graduated yet little tike. Talk to me in three months.” She parked and they headed through the back door which was coded.
Sapphire reached her hand out. “Hi, nice to meet you all. My business partner and I truly appreciate you coming tonight and gracing our stage with your talent.”
Marteen lowered his shades so he could get a better look at her. “Where's your business partner?”
Sapphire swallowed hard. “She had an emergency and she's really sorry that she's not here to greet you with me.”
Marteen looked around her. “Saved by the bell.”
Sapphire turned around to see Riley and Chaeyoung. She gave Riley the death glare but most she was just glad that she had finally made it.
Riley
Chaeyoung
I'm so sorry. Riley mouthed to her.
“I'm sorry for my tardiness. I'm Riley and this is my little sister, she's a huge fan of yours!” Riley introduced herself.
Chaeyoung stepped in front of her. “You could say I'm the reason you're here tonight.” She winked in his direction.
Marteen grabbed her hand gently and kissed the top of it. “Well thanks for getting me here, gorgeous.”
Riley pulled her away. “Okay, that's enough of that because you have a show to get ready for.”
Chaeyoung shook her head and left from the VIP section.
Sapphire nodded at Marteen and his posse and followed out as well.
“You know she's just looking out for you, right?” Saph smiled beside Chaeyoung.
“I'm not a baby, I don't need her treating me like one. You either!”
Saph took a deep breath. “You'll always be our baby whether you like it or not. Guys like him don't always play nice. She just doesn't want you to be another number on his list.” She tipped her chin.
“So am I supposed to stay single forever?” Chaeyoung asked. She was tired of them treating her like a child.
“Not forever!” Saph laughed and grabbed her hand to pull her to a better view of the stage.
Riley finally caught up with them. “Why is it that when I have that same exact conversation with her she tunes me out?”
Sapphire placed her arm over Riley's shoulder. “Every little sister is rebellious sometimes, just embrace it.”
Marteen rocked the house and the crowd went wild.
Finally the club was closing but of course Riley and Sapphire had to stay behind with the rest of the staff to attend to operational business.
“Well tonight was a win!” Riley exclaimed.
“It could be so much bigger though.” A man said from behind them.
Sapphire and Riley turned around fast to an unknown voice.
“Sir, we're closing up!” Riley told him quickly.
“Where is security? I pay you all to make sure that no one is still in here after closing, how freaking hard is that?” Sapphire yelled a bit out of frustration.
The guy stepped a bit closer. “No no, I was here because I've heard so much about this club so I had to check it out myself. Let me introduce myself, please?”
Sapphire stepped back a little. “You have five minutes, sir.”
“All I need because what I tell you, I'm almost certain you're going to want in.”
“Chop chop, time is ticking.” Riley added as she snapped her fingers.
The man took a deep breath. “My name is Lee Minho and I'm a business investor. Basically what that means is I invest money in lucrative businesses and help them expand. With me on your team this club could be international. Am I sparking some interest?”
Sapphire and Riley looked at one another quickly. “Keep talking.” They said at the same time.
“I've been researching this club for a while because one of my colleagues told me about it and what y'all have is something special and I believe it could be a big hit in Seoul if not bigger than it is now. I could set you up with the right people to get this started.”
Riley stared at him for a moment. “So you expect us to just uproot our business all the way to Seoul?”
“No, not at all. I expect you to expand your business to Seoul and profit off of both locations. Y'all give small artist a voice and you give young people the chance to see bigger artist perform when they probably wouldn't get another chance to. You could be giving the same thing to the Seoul market. There are a lot of thriving artist that would love to be on one your stage and there's plenty of starving artists who just need a platform to be heard. You could be that platform.” Minho explained.
“This all sounds good but I need numbers. How much are you trying to profit off of us?” Sapphire spoke honestly as she tapped her fresh manicured nails against the table.
Minho chuckled. He wrote a number down and slid it across the table to them.
Riley and Sapphire both examined the piece of paper.
“Send me a contract with all the information and we'll have our attorney look it over.” Riley told him with a stern look on her face.
“By the way, if any illegal actions are involved with this club idea you can count us out now. We built this business on hard work and I refuse to allow anybody to mess that up. Also if we find out that there is some illegal connections involved we will cut you out the deal, so don't cross us.” Sapphire explained.
“I completely understand. I'm just doing my job and trying to help you become bigger. I promise there is no funny business.” He grabbed his things and stood up. “I'll send you over my information tomorrow. Time waits for no one.”
Chaeyoung ran over to them. “So, we're moving to Seoul or what?” She was too excited.
Riley snickered. “WE might be moving there, you on the other hand should be focused on finishing high school.”
“So you're just going to leave me here?” Chaeyoung's feelings were hurt.
Riley sighed. “I can't just up and take you with me. Mom has to make that decision and I'm certain that she's probably not even going to be okay with me leaving.”
Chae crossed her arms. “After I graduate she can't stop me. Can't y'all wait until then?”
“Nothing is set in stone, Chae. We may not be going anywhere. Let's just cross that bridge when we get to it.” Riley reassured her.
“If you go, you have to make sure I'm there too. I could go to college there. Mom can't say no to that, right?” Chae was trying to find logical explanations for getting to Korea.
Sapphire nodded her head. “Sounds like the best excuse to get out of this place, surely she won't turn down you furthering your education.”
“Better start filling out applications then.” Riley rubbed her shoulder.
Chaeyoung's mouth curled into a mischievous grin. “Already ahead of you. I'm just waiting on Hongdae University to contact me back. Plus I applied to some others too.”
“Really, Chae?” Riley was a bit shocked.
“We've always talked about going to Korea, I hope you didn't take me for a joke.”
Sapphire smiled. “Korea is not ready for us!”
Riley rolled her eyes with a small smile. “Nothing's set in stone, guys.”
