Bathroom Decor, 1973
Here we have a classic example of someone who wanted to create a modern Goth or cool black & white look, but failed. Let us look and learn:
#1: You can’t do this cheaply. Clearly they went to Ikea and bought whatever they could find that’s white.
Instead of these weak little chairs around a disappearing table, they would’ve been better off going for mismatched vintage chairs and a table, then painting them white.
Even though it’s flat black, the kitchen walls are in bad lumpy shape and the paint doesn’t hide it. Either embrace it or fix it, but don’t try to cover it up. The kitchen island looks like a veterinary examining table. Dull kitchen. Yuck.
Both bedrooms are identical, except for the white wall stickers above the beds. Lazy decorating. The stacked cinderblocks would’ve made cooler bedside tables if they had some sort of accessories or were painted. Dreary.
The small bath is not sleek, it’s pathetic. Ugh.
This bonus room in the attic is a horror. Am I seeing black tables next to the chairs? Clearly those chairs were a real bargain, b/c they’re in every room of the house. DIY Fail.

"IMO, the already cramped design of this "galley" kitchen is further diminished by the overpowering wallpaper choice. Honestly, it's tough to discern where the boundaries of the back wall shelf unit begin and end."

"I really don't know what's going on here. I tried boosting the exposure to get a better look, but that only made it worse. It kind of gives me a 'cold war bunker' feeling, though it does have a window. Then again, perhaps it's artificial lighting. Any thoughts?"

"Another example of WAY too much going on in this decorating choice."
