Our apartment patio has an L-shaped fence around it (and two tiny awkward flowerbeds that I put garden plants in). The part of the L facing the front of the house has been replaced at some point. The side of the L is, I’m pretty sure, original to the building (1974).
So yesterday I took a hammer to it and destroyed it in order to put in a new top rail. I intended to just scrub and paint the slats off the sides, but they too are dry-rotted at the top and bottom (as is the bottom rail).
So today I get to go to the home center and buy slats and another PT 2x4.
Also today it’s raining and cold. Of course.
