Two weeks since Christmas break. Assignments were all delivered, grades were due, and most people seemed still to take life chill. Why wouldn't they? They knew big troubles would soon come their way. Projects, assignments, a pandemic, other pressures.
To those who cared, or even the observant ones, they could see that Lilith wasn't one of the people taking life chill at the moment, and the pandemic and schools awful planing didn't quite help.
7th of February. It was carved in her brain, the date. Her deadline.
Like hell she wanted to talk with someone about it, but everyone seemed chill, she knew exactly what people would say. She never found confort in repetition, neither in promises that future would decide held untrue.
That's how you make yourself feel helpless she thought one night, closing her Mac, seeing that her deadline was slowly approaching.
And thinking, that too.
