Now I've learned it's an official IMAX poster! It still might be a joke thought...

Have you noticed the trend from in movie posters for the female character to be facing away from the audience while looking over her shoulder in a demure yet ever so slightly angry way?

This poster for Mission:Impossible Rogue Nation is what made me got my attention, because it is such an odd choice for a poster, and looks totally unnatural. She is like a judgmental owl riding a motorcycle.

Every other character poster is either straight to camera or when they are looking over their shoulder their is no butt to be seen, Tom Cruise is covered in moody shadow.

  It is a tried and tested method of selling the female lead in an action movie, and it needs to stop.

The one movie released recently that played into gender expectations, Jupiter Ascending, very nearly does the opposite of the Dark Knight Rises poster. Which would have been something.

But hold on, the character poster is all over the shoulder too. 

G.I. Joe posters may be all over the usual butt shot for the female characters …

But they also have a special place in the posters reserved for Byung-Hun Lee, he gets the butt shot and the topless poster.

Not a fan of that poster particularly whose front and center while Hook is in the 2nd row even though it was him and Emma that shared the final moment of the season with her saying I love you.

LOL, yeah it’s so embarrassing.  For the network, the show, the actors. The “artist” who created it. Come on. The whole thing is bush league. 

As for placement, I assume they put those three front and center because that poster is only on social media and those three represent the three largest fanbases  Rumple (Dearies and Rumbellers) Regina (Evil Regals,  SQers and OQers) and Emma (Ugly Ducklings, Charming Family and CSers) so they cover as much ground as possible and give all the factions a reason to watch.

I know there are supposed to be clues, but I can’t read too much into it as far as plot though, because WTF does Regina in Evil Queen regalia even mean this season?  Isn’t she supposed to be flip-flopping with the savior, on a hero’s journey, wearing RED, helping in the effort to save Emma? So why would they portray her at her darkest?  LOL.
