Deysha is a graphic designer who is aspiring to be a voice actress. She is particularly inspired by Kevin Conroy (my personal favorite) and Troy Baker. She is also a cosplayer and a painter. Her work can be seen here: https://www.facebook.com/deysha.paredes/
Her favorite fandoms are Marvel and DC, with Wonder Woman and Harley Quinn outshining the rest. She came to our booth at New York Comic Con and just could not wait to become Wonder Woman herself. After she told me how many people stopped her in the street to compliment her, I asked her to please come model a dress for me the next time a customer lives too far away to model.
Thank you Deysha, for being such a peach to talk to and sending me photos of you in your dress so we can squee at how adorable you are!
This week's Badass Babe of the Week is Emily Wagner! Emily is a former Young Adult Librarian at Lucius Beebe Memorial Library who is in the process of shifting careers into publishing. She helps run a small literary science fiction and fantasy convention called Readercon, is a co-kitty-mommy of 4 cats with her wife, and used to fly stunt kites competitively. Emily loves all sorts of fandoms, but her favorites include fat lady characters with a ton of attitude which led to her first two dresses, Lumpy Space Princess and Ursula, followed by Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) because who doesn't love a badass pilot with superpowers and a weird alien kitty?! Emily first contacted us on Etsy after reading my Daily Dot interview with one of the most endearing messages we've ever gotten. She said she "nearly started crying, because the other day I thought about searching for an LSP dress but KNEW that I wouldn't find them in plus sizes and figured the irony would actually kill me dead. Thanks for these incredibly cool dresses and custom sizing." Her second message convinced us to start offering pockets as an add-on to all of our dresses which was obviously a fabulous idea! One of our biggest cheerleaders, it's an absolute delight to watch Emily's face light up when talking about Little Petal and she can occasionally be found guest booth babe-ing with us. This week's Badass Customer Babe is Melissa Lorenzana! Melissa is a native New Yorker who teaches immigrant students English. She recently relocated to Florida for some fun in the sun and to make all of her friends jealous of her near constant Disney adventures. Loud Melissa was also a booker for the longtime New York DIY punk venue ABC No Rio and her fandoms range from Justice League to Dr Who. One of our first convertible dress customers, the sheer amount of genuine compliments she gave in regards to fit and comfort of her dress furthered the realization of just how few companies really pay attention to plus size women and we've made it our goal to make sure all of our customers feel magnificent! Strong and vivacious, Melissa recently celebrated her one year sober and we can't think of a more badass reason to turn the spotlight on her this week! http://www.littlepetal.net/blog/littlepetal/2016/2/29/badass-babe-of-the-week-melissa-lorenzana
This week's badass babe is Allison Irving! Allison is a teacher's assistant who is working towards having a daycare classroom of her own for kids under 3 because everything is so new and exciting to them. She's also a cosplay queen who loves Disney, Pokémon, Labyrinth, Full Metal Alchemist, Sailor Moon, Legend of Zelda, Inuyasha, Harry Potter, Firefly, and Mario. When she's not cosplaying she loves to rock out to metal and classic rock. Allison is a repeat Little Petal babe (when you can have any character its natural to want ALL of your favorites!) who takes the most gorgeous and dynamic vogue photos ever. Her bubbly enthusiasm brings all of her characters to life and charms our customers when she's booth babe-ing it up with us at NYCC. Check out our spotlight on Allison here: http://www.littlepetal.net/blog/littlepetal/2016/2/22/badass-babe-of-the-week-allison-irving
This week’s badass babe is Tammy Demko! Tammy is a dental hygienist and a Dryad Enchantress, constantly hiking or camping, and finding inner peace through nature. Her goal is to work to live so she can scratch her travel itch often. Tammy is truly connected to mother Earth, using essential oils to make products that are all natural and good for your body, such as toothpaste and deodorant and her craftiness extends to creating gorgeous crochet pieces ranging from hats to reconstructed vintage shirts. A true anime nerd, she loves Death Note, My Love Story, everything by Studio Ghibli, Samurai Champloo, and Inuyasha. Tammy is also Danielle's long time best friend who taught Danielle to sew at 16 so without her there would be no Little Petal! Check out our spotlight on Tammy here: http://www.littlepetal.net/blog/littlepetal/2016/2/16/badass-babe-of-the-week-tammy-demko
