" regina was getting sick and tired of @badbandits constantly trying to make fetch happen . sure she had excitedly used it at spring fling and a very drugged regina had commended it - that she annoyingly remembered from her drugged haze - but now , as they sat in the cafeteria she was sick and tired of hearing it day in and day out .

regina flipped her hair over her shoulder , turning to her side so she could face gretchen head on . raising her eyebrows and cocking her head to the side , she threw daggers towards the other woman . " now that you've kept your mouth shut , which is a shock , you can tell me what we are doing this weekend . " being out of school for so long from injuries , regina had missed out on a few parties and she needed to make the best comeback . " well come on , spill weiners . "

ㅤ  for  once  it  wasn't  bryce  who  had  gone  down  hard  during  practice — USUALLY  THANKS  TO  REGINA,   but  it  wasn't  like  it  was  totally  unwarrented — no,   this  time  it  was  her  best  friend?   girlfriend?   boyfriend?   partner - thing?    ❝  pey?!  ❞    she  calls  out,   the  sight  of  them  hitting  the  grass  has  her  taking  her  helmet  off,   dropping  it — as  well  as  her  stick — onto  the  field  as  she  runs  over  towards  a  down  peyton.   the  treads  on  her  cleats  tearing  through  the  grass  in  their  wake.

ㅤ  IT  DOESN'T  TAKE  HER  LONG,   but  eventually  she's  by  their  side,    ❝  move,  ❞    she  says  to  their  other  teammates  who  were  now  crowding  peyton.   they  looked  alright,   but  it  was  enough  impact  to  knock  their  helmet  off,   or  they  took  it  off   ...   she's  not  sure.   to  be  fair,   bryce  was  tunnel  visioning  hard.    ❝  give  them  some  space!  ❞    soon  they're  backing  off  and  it's  just  bryce  looking  down  at  peyton.   HER  FACE  PROBABLY  SPEAKS  VOLUMES,   because  peyton  responds.

ㅤ  THEY'RE  RESPONSIVE!   a  breath  that  she  wasn't  aware  that  she'd  been  holding  is  exhaled  and she  brings  her  hand  up  to  her  chest  to  try  to  will  the  freakout  to  cease.

ㅤ  it  certainly  takes  a  moment  but  when  she  gets  everything  regulated  again,   SHE'S  ASKING  THE  REAL  QUESTION,   what  had  been  burning  at  her  mind  since  she  saw  peyton  in  the  grass  without  her  helmet  on.    ❝  did  you  take  that  off?  ❞    being  concussed  wasn't  something  bryce  wanted  to  joke  about.   at  least  not  right  now.

NO ONE TELLS YOU HOW COLD A FROZEN LAKE IS.

Sure, you'd expect a certain level of it -- it's a frozen fucking lake, after all -- but you don't realize it until your body is suddenly submerged up to the collarbone, until you're scrabbling and scraping at the edges of the ice trying to get out.

Frankie certainly didn't expect it. What's more, they didn't expect their dogs, their team relatively new to them, to be able to coordinate on their own to drag them out of the icy depths. They were lucky, their head never went under, but--

One of the dogs darted off. Slipped its lead. Squid? They think so. He's a flash of black and white heading towards a distant cabin they hadn't seen previously, and Frankie is.. so cold. It's all they can do to lay on the ice and pant, heave, try to bring in as much stinging oxygen as possible.

( Of course, Squid is doing his best -- the black and white dog was racing across the ice, boots gripping the slick surface. When he makes it to the cabin, he scratched at the door over and over, howling at the top of his lungs to alert whoever might be inside.

He didn't know that smoke coming from a chimney likely meant someone was home -- but he knew Frankie was in trouble. He knew whoever was here needed to help. )

pink nails continued to tap along the metal locker doors as the click clack of her stilettos hit the ground . regina was back in full force , but something was different . there was a part of her that she finally realized , that she wasn't what everyone thought she was . she wasn't the same regina george that was hit by the bus , but a mix of who she was prior and who she was post . stalking the halls , regina knew that she had a prey to catch .

damian hubbard was the prey on that day , and regina knew she'd eventually track him down . popping the strawberry bubblegum in her mouth as she rounded the corner , she caught him . alone . " good , pyro is off lighting someone else's bag on fire . my timing is always perfect . " regina smirked as she pulled the bubblegum with her fingers , stretching it and twisting it around a pink coffin manicure . " we need to talk . . . in private . "
