Europeans are usually prouds of their beers and always have bad words about foreign ones. Since a while with a friend, we decided to try all the cheapest, strongest beers that we can easily find to rate them and share our thougts. Every once in a while we find these pebbles amoung the gems and challenge ourselves to drink it.
Let's get to the point, those beers are made for bums, very cheap, strong and never refrigerated. So when you buy it, it's always warm, unless you freeze it yourself.
So what about this beer :
The so called "Martens Strong"
It says “Imported” but it’s made in Belgium, so yes technically it’s imported but come on, you could brand this everywhere.
Price : CHEAP - 69cts€ (around 0.80$) for 0.5L (roughly a pint)
Alcohol level : It says strong so... yep 10% is quite powerful even for a cheap beer
Taste : Awful, even cold, strong tast of alcohol, a hint of grains or maybe hops but is more like artificial bittering flavor.
Heat level : Exactly what you can expect form a beverage that neither your liver or your kidneys want to deal with...
Aftermath : A little headache soon after but I got sick for a while the next day, I drank other things this same evening so I can't really blame it, let's say it's just a suspect.
Rate : 3/10 on a normal scale, 4/10 on the lowcost-beer scale
Neither the worst or the less bad but still pretty bad. It's hardly identifiable as a beer, more like a strong fizzy beverage like if you turn glass cleaner or car coolant into a fizzy drink.
