When i logged onto my Twitter account today I saw something that really outraged me! (posted below)
“ 14u team being told they are pathetic and uncoachable - acceptable or not? Last three tournaments the girls have been called quitters and have had any little bit of confidence squashed. Granted they have made mistakes but what would you (other parents) do if this was your daughter's team?”
after reading this i was truly disappointed, I went to a school where we were always undefeated and barely ever lost a single game in softball. I believe this was because of our coaches giving us the love and support that they knew we deserved. Each one of us on my teams were born with softball in our blood we were an all around all-star team BUT our coaches would correct us PROPERLY if something was done wrong. Calling girls that arent even 14 years old pathetic and uncoachable is just cowardly, why does he feel that way because he is too lazy to coach them in the first place. Coaches are there to mold players into all-stars not just sign up to receive a paycheck thinking they are entering this job with professional ready children!!
Coaches need to encourage these girls be thankful and realize they chose to be there rather than sitting inside the house with their faces on the internet like most kids nowadays! No child is ever pathetic, they are innocent and have mold-able brains which need to be filled with positive thoughts to make it in today's society.
If my child was on this team the coach would have had my 65 mph fastball to his genital area, chest or possibly his face, no one would ever get away with crushing a child’s dreams or passions. IF YOU THINK THEY ARE BAD THEN FIX THE PROBLEM! WORK WITH THEM UNTIL THEY GET IT! Anyone can be taught how to do anything as long as they have the proper teaching! this guy needs to never be allowed to coach a child again!
