regardless of their current standing, connor knew that gavin was good at his job. he wasn’t a very pleasant person to be around, and he caused enough fights to cause others to notice; so there had to be some reason to keep him around. it was still difficult to work with the man in the few times that he was assigned a case with him. the two of them were stubborn, determined to do things their way - and even if connor believed he could trust gavin. there’s always room for human error, to allow something to slip his mind and not have a critical piece of information given to connor as a result. so, he’s now hunched over gavin’s computer. attempting to quickly shift through the files he’s saved before he returns back and catches him in the act.
no such luck, though. he can hear gavin address him before he disconnects from his computer - hand having previously been pressed against the screen. a moments pause is given, a sort of awkward smile provided to the man. “ detective reed. ” he’s trying to figure out how to explain his way out of this one. “ -- i.. apologize. i had just been reviewing the case details you had saved. ” it was true. enough of an explanation to give unless gavin pushes it. || @baddcop liked.
