Badii (1916-2001) was an Italian-Argentinian artist who is known for paintings, polychrome wooden sculptures, and large scale bronzes.
I'm not really sure why I find this piece so charming. Perhaps it's because it gives us a glimpse into Badii's process work. His bronze sculptures are often large outdoor pieces, but Badii would produce sketches and etchings before creating the final piece. With this etching we are able to appreciate the subtlety and intimacy of the design without the grandeur of an oversized bronze monument.
Like this etching, Badii's work often features two figures in an embrace, which is also nice.
