The Bad Man is deep purple. It wears its youth on it sleeve. Like all young rockers it's brash and confident. Spice to the fore on the nose. Under this, a bramble laden hedge, stewed plums and cinnamon. This is the Cabernet Sauvignon element, along with mint and cedar. Rich pipe tobacco and black olive jostle those fruits, this Bad Man is not shy. After all, there is Syrah in the mix too, that manliest of grapes. On the palate; silky smooth fruit gets knocked sideways by those youthful tannins (hello Cabernet). Grippy and powerful, certainly not unpleasant. Then a surprise, sharp acid, citrus, fruit sour finish, fading back into those juicy red berries. This one is made just up the road from me and was dropped in my road as a gift.
