NS Complexion facts (acne). You’re not in this alone.

Though it may not seem like it due to the media we consume, the vast majority of people are affected by conditions that can cause an ns complexion. The symptoms can vary massively from person to person but suffice it to say, a lot of us are in this together.

Acne

- It is approximated that up to 85% of people experience some form of acne between the ages of 12 and 24.

The amount of people who experience acne may come as a shock because we’re not exposed to those with the condition through what we watch or see in print. People with ns complexions caused by acne can often feel isolated in their condition but surely if we’re a part of the 85% of the population who share our complexions we should be exposed to those who we can relate to in the media. Without that exposure many of us grow up feeling outcast or not up to societal beauty standards purely because of our skin.

- The average age of those who experience acne is 26.5 years old, an increase from 20 years old

Adult onset acne is becoming more and more common. This is the same age bracket that is responsible for purchasing the majority of print media and consuming television and films; yet we stay unrepresented.

- Acne has a massive effect on mental health

This one may seem obvious but the numbers are staggering. With 96% of those with acne reporting feelings of depression and 31% of those with acne declining to take part in social activities.

There is absolutely no way you should feel the need to shut yourself away because of your complexion, but we do. We need to learn to embrace it and own it.

- There is no 100% safe cure for acne

A condition experienced by so many shouldn’t be having such drastic effects on those who are living through it but we’re brought up in a world where the media we consume says that having an ns complexion isn’t good enough and that is not how it should be.

Having an ns complexion doesn’t take away from your beauty or validity as a person. It is a part of you, so own it.

Inclusion and representation for all

Recently my (by society’s standards) bad complexion has been having a pretty negative affect on my life. From my mood to my behaviour, I’ve found myself being constantly shrouded in negativity; but why?

It got me thinking that in all forms of media, those who suffer from complexion affecting conditions are completely unrepresented and general stereotypes don’t help how we perceive ourselves.

There’s movements for inclusion of those with disabilities or those who otherwise aren’t considered beautiful by society’s standards, and rightly so; but where are the representatives for those with ‘bad’ complexions, or as I’ll be referring to it, non-standard (ns) complexions.

We have no control over the causes of our ns complexions yet we grow up not seeing in any form of media what we see in the mirror every day and it can have devastating effects on our confidence, self image and ultimately, our happiness.

Having an ns complexion doesn’t take away your beauty, nor does it make you a bad person.

This blog will strive to be a voice for people with ns complexions, and hopefully help others see that anyone can be beautiful with any complexion. What if our voices could be heard by those that have media influence and we start seeing ourselves being represented? Imagine growing up with your ns complexion in a world where it’s not looked at in a negative light. Beautiful.

開始儲 Avios 吧！低成本激活英航會員帳戶的方法！

英航的 Avios 是一種可以直接購買的里數，所以小編也斷斷續續地收到查詢，問：「為什麼每當準備購買時都出現錯誤？是不是新的帳戶其實不能購買里數？」

是的。但不用擔心，還是有解決方法的，這次要說說：

英航對於買里數的政策；

賣里數的原意

發行並售賣里數也是航空公司的收入來源之一，也當然不會抗拒這樣的業務。但如果所有人都可以注冊一個新的帳戶，然後就可以直接買里數換機票的話，那麼獎勵機位的供應便會失衝，所以英航有設立了條款阻止事件發生。化繁為簡地說，就是新帳戶一定要透過飛行、信用卡積分、酒店的常客計畫中等途徑取得了一些 Avios 後，才可以參與買里數換機票的遊戲。

（雖然現實生活中還是有航空公司會用力地賣里數賺錢，那樣的公司名為阿拉斯加航空，也是神一般的里數計畫）

我們來讀讀英航買里數時的遊戲規則：

每一個月歷年的購買上限為 35k Avios；

購買後一般會在五個工作天內入帳；

購買人必須年滿 18 歲（這到底是什麼玩法？）

購買時必須至少有一點 Avios (One Avios) 在帳戶內。

我該從哪里獲得那一點 Avios?

信用卡儲分？去 Kaligo & Rocketmiles 訂住宿？乘搭英航或寰宇一家成員的航班？

這些都是正確的答案！但我想你出現得在這兒，你都是覺得以上方法要不就是成本太高、或是太麻煩，不然你也不會出現在這。而之前也有約略提及過解決方法，就是去英航的 estore 買點什麼，但是似乎說得不夠詳細。

首先是要登入 British Airways Executive Club 的帳戶，然後拉到最底。有看到左邊 Shop online and earn Avios 嗎？用力點進去就是了！

然後就用力點 Go Shopping！eStore 運作的邏輯就是當我們透過英航的連結去購物時，英航可以從中抽到佣，繼而可以將部份佣金以 Avios 的形式回佣至我們的帳戶內。

eStore 中有許多不同的商戶，有賣電腦的、有賣服裝的，但因為本身的定位是面向英國的市場，所以在海外用起來還有夠不方便，要不就是不送貨，要不就是要付很貴的運費。

但 The Book Depository 就是這樣的一個例外，因為它算是全球最大的英文書網購平台，而且不管送到哪裡都不需運費。

而且重點是，每一英磅的消費都可以轉化成 5個 Avios！一本書平日的售價大概是 5-10 磅，也就是就買一本書就可以得到 25-50 Avios，完全地符合了目標。

例如小編是一個不同語言的小王子的收集者，去過夏威夷後才驚覺它有自己版本的小王子，所以現在想補買一本。（好吧，其實這部分跟教學完全無關，只是純粹的想找找同好⋯）然後我就去結帳了！

十幾天後，我終於拿到了這本小王子，可是那時 Avios 沒有同時入帳。

直至接近一個半月後，Avios 才成功地入帳，順利地激活了帳戶，也可以順利地參與買里數換機票的遊戲了!
