Damn, why are there so many characters we have together? I’m crying. I’m not even sure I got them all, and I left off the Zone M ones because I’m not sure our characters are good enough friends to have favorite pics of each other. Sorry. 

Preston Calvert: 

“There are a lot of way hot pictures of my wife, but the most beautiful has got to be after our first night together. It wasn’t the first night we boned, but just the first time we fell asleep together and woke up together and….I felt like maybe it was the first time that we could maybe be in love. Plus, she looks gorgeous. And it’s not like I could pick a favorite picture without me in it.”

Rachel Berry

“I’m the luckiest girl I know. Not everyone can get someone beautiful and wonderful to love them forever, especially not someone as problematic as me. While I am talented and worthwhile, I also know I can be a handful. My fathers aren’t shy about saying so. However, I suppose it just took more than two hands to care for me. It’s not fair that, while the world has such a short supply of perfect people, I took two. Then again, I’ve always been selfish, so it’s not like it’s a huge surprise. When they sent me a joint selfie from behind the scenes of my first show, I knew I was in love. I’m just glad I have enough for both of them, because they deserve the world.”

It’s like we can’t spend a whole weekend without studying or thinking about our future or fighting good versus evil style. Everyone knows she’s serious, but it’s kind of bomb that she lets me see her more relaxed and chill. That also happens to be when she’s at the peak of her hot.”

“Gosh. I have a million pics of Madison that I love! One of the many fringe benefits of living together all our lives, you know. Literally. The one I’m loving the most lately though is the one she Instagrammed after the wedding. It was ridiculous amounts of fun. We love going to weddings and I couldn’t have asked for a better-coordinated date. We even got to show off our prized sibling-dance routine! But the best part is how much fun she was having. I always love Mads, but I love her the most when she’s smiling, because that’s when we look alike the most.”

“Every time Santana smiles in a photograph, she beats me up seconds after it’s taken. Seriously. It’s like a science. Even when we first started iBritt and I was barely anyone to her. Still, it’s impossible to deny the camera loves her. Always has, always will. Anyway, this is the first shot I ever got of her where she was genuinely smiling. Not I-will-kill-you-in-your-sleep smiling, or even I’m-tolerating-you-but-as-soon-as-we’re-alone-I’m-going-to-pummel-you, but a real, sincere, you’re-kind-of-alright-Chang smile. And I’m proud to say I got that first moment on film, forever.”

“Caught the bae sleeping. But seriously, this is the only photo I have of her that isn’t posed while her giving me those Fabray eyes. It’s just a girl who waited in the seats until my final audition was finally done. Before, that much dedication might have freaked me out, but now? I don’t know. It’s nice to know she cares. And since I took this pic, I guess I care too.”

ϡ a goodbye letter from my muse to yours

It had been a whole night since Preston told Evangeline to go home. He knew in movies it was typical to not sleep through such a tortured night, but as soon as he left her and went to his room, he passed out instantly. The sleep was long and torturous and he had nightmares, a lot of them, about losing his money and about showing up to meetings without his pants. 

Most of his nightmares were about losing her though.

Evangeline had grown to be the best part of Preston’s day. She was vivacious and interesting and she kept him on his toes, and after a while, he felt less hate from her and more…acceptance? Whatever he’d felt, he liked it, and was actually looking forward to their wedding for less selfish reasons.

But then her dad got sick and her face when she realized she really was stuck in his house broke his heart. Go, he’d told her. Go back to your dad, to your life. You can always call me if you want to but….go. He needs you more now.

Preston wasn’t totally sure it was true. Who could need Evangeline more than he did? She made him feel human and healthy for the first time in a long time. And now he was alone, again.

He woke up way past noon, his tank sweated through and the bags under his eyes more pronounced than ever. Preston had to push himself out of his room in the West Wing and slug down the hallway down the stairs and to the dining room. He chewed his way through a tasteless meal and slumped back upstairs, pausing by Evangeline’s old wing. Even though he knew it would hurt, he walked into her old room.

It was almost exactly how it looked before she moved in. The bed was neat, the closet was empty….obviously his staff had been more than accommodating in getting her out. 

Some creepy part of Preston had been hoping she’d left something behind to remember her by. His heart sank when he realized she hadn’t.

He hurried back to his room, ready to bury himself under a bunch of blankets and Netflix all day, avoiding his father, when he saw an envelope by his door that he’d missed on the way out. It had his name on it in what was Evangeline’s distinct script.

Snatching it up, Preston wasted no time in opening the letter, scanning it hopefully. 

It was a goodbye letter.

The fact that she’d written him a goodbye letter at all filled him with hope, because the Evangeline that had entered the mansion certainly would never have left him a note, unless it was a law suit or a drawing of a middle finger.

But this was different. This was…nice, kind of. Reminiscing, kind of. And reading it was validation that she hadn’t totally hated him by the end of it. She saw him as a friend, and that word made his heart pound. He couldn’t believe he’d gotten this smart girl to care about him in any way. It was kind of amazing.

This was the last time he’d hear from her, probably. The thought made him feel shaky and a teardrop fell from his face and down onto the ink. Hurriedly, he put the letter aside. He didn’t want to ruin it. 

He collected himself and then reread the letter. And again. And again. And he reread the letter until he fell into a calmer, dreamless sleep.

“It’s so dumb! We don’t even have an elephant or a tiger or any form of wild animal at the wedding, and now we’re not even going to have the flowers you wanted?! How hard is it to find white roses? I’m paying these guys way too much money to party plan and they can’t do a single thing right!”

Preston had been screaming about the wedding for what felt like forever, and even though Evangeline didn’t hate him anymore necessarily, he was probably annoying her. She kept staring at him and he knew he should stop but his temper was flaring and he couldn’t calm down to save his life.

“Is it so wrong to want the perfect day? Is it? Because we deserve it, damn it! I’m not going to be alone, and you had to be sold into this nightmare and it’s just like, give us a break, universe! Give us the wedding of our dreams! I’m so so sorry, baby. I wanted it to be wonderful, not this little basic thing it’s shaping up to be.”

He’d been pacing back and forth in the library, hands on the back of his neck. When he turned to pace back, she was standing in front of him. 

“I swear, I’m going to get you the best wedding if it’s the last thing I - “

Finally, he stopped.

Evangeline was kissing him. She was pressing her soft lips against his and tracing up and down his forearms with her fingers, a soft sound escaping the back of her throat.

She sounded happy.

And with that sound of happiness, Preston found his happiness too. It was right there in front of him with the haunting blue eyes and the dark hair and the soft lips. 

And any wedding would be the perfect wedding if she were his perfect bride.

ت our muses running into each other after not seeing each other for several years

Going back to New York was always a whirlwind of emotion. Even though Mike had found success running a dance-company in California (a good use of both of his majors, as his father always liked reminding him), his true home had been the Big Apple. He grew up there until college in Texas, and it was where he’d met Sugar Motta, the love of his life…platonically, at least. They hadn’t seen as much of each other lately, what with his move westward, but she held a special place in his heart as the person who knew him best.

A part of him wasn’t too sure he wasn’t still somewhat in love with her. He certainly hadn’t moved on. Not that it mattered.

A bigger part of him kept a look out for her every time he went back to visit family in New York. He hadn’t been lucky yet. Or unlucky. Whatever.

His father’s latest celebration was a big one, so Mike packed up his bags and visited home for a weekend. Like every last time, Sugar wasn’t there, and the disappointment was palpable. He ditched the party early, opting to go to a bar for a drink before crashing at his hotel. 

It only took ten seconds into the club to see her.

There she was, loud and beautiful and full of life like she’d always been, and more capable of promoting emotion in his heart than anything else. Without thinking, Mike ran to the dance floor, gliding around her in his special dancy way. He reached out to take one of her hands in the air and spun her around before dipping her dramatically. It was then that their eyes met.

“Hey,” he mouthed in the loudness of the club, holding Sugar’s gaze for one more moment before lifting her and continuing on their dance as though they’d never stopped.

"If you get killed I'm telling.""Nothing can defeat the penis!""I think I'm kinda gay.""She irons her jeans! She's evil!""That isn't drool, is it?"

"If you get killed I'm telling."

"It wouldn't be my first brush with death," Mike shrugged nonchalantly, hanging his camera around his neck to begin the ascent up the metal-link fence. It was quite high but on the other side was an old abandoned house, filled with tons of decaying wood, debris, and most importantly, a dying garden. It was the kind of thing Quinn would love to photograph, and if Mike got her access to it, it would make her love him even more. So he climbed and climbed, thankful that he's chosen an agile body for this realm. When he finally got to the top, he leaped down, landing gently on the balls of his feet. "Easy," Mike laughed, looking for the latch to let her in. "Now get in here. Your garden awaits."

"Nothing can defeat the penis!"

The king cringed at his wife's rude language, holding up a hand to calm her. "Please excuse my queen," King Mike II tried. "She has an unfortunate compulsion to yell out sentences. If we may?" He guided her out of the room, turning agitated but amused the second the door closed behind them. "Can you please find a more diplomatic way to call out misogyny in the kingdom? Because if you continue to speak that way, that's how they're going to remember you. They'll call you the Penis Queen, and that'll be very confusing for the history books."

"I think I'm kinda gay."

"Not exactly the romantic proclamation I was expecting," Rachel teased, reaching a hand out to touch Quinn's. "But you could be wrong. It could just be the imprinting telling you that you care about me more than anyone else. Aside from Mike, that is. It doesn't have to mean that you love me or see me in any other way....unless you do?" That last bit came out more hopeful than Rachel meant for it to and her wide brown eyes filled with panic as she realized that she didn't need Quinn to be her best friend anymore; she needed someone to love. 

"She irons her jeans! She's evil!"

Mike bit back a laugh, hating himself for thinking that was funny. Then again, he had just been betrayed by his best friend; was it so wrong to seek comfort from his worst enemy? "Rachel does iron her jeans, doesn't she?" he laughed, shaking his head. "When she bothers to wear them, I mean. Instead of rocking those weird tights and skirts that make her look like she's stealing clothes from my grandmother." He paused, looking over at Quinn. "I can't insult her any more, no matter how mad I am. Can you keep going for me?"

"That isn't drool, is it?"

"Uhh..." he lifted their pink-wearing daughter and eyed the front of her onesie with disdain. "That definitely isn't drool. Or if it was, it isn't anymore." Mike could feel his stomach churning at the texture and the smell of whatever was beginning to crust on the front of Gigi's outfit. "Ugh. Can you change her, Nugget?" He turned to look for Sugar but she was out of sight. "Typical," he muttered, turning back to his daughter with a sigh. "Make sure you remember that I'm the one who changed you when you get older and only have enough money to send only one of us to a nursing home, Geeg."
