so I have a lot of barry’s on both of my accounts that I love and adore, like all of them, seriously give me all the barry’s but on my very lack of sleep brain this morning when I was just thinking and smiling cause of all my barry’s my thought process went. ‘oh yes I love all the barry’s they are my baes- no they are my baerry’s’ and yep now that’s a thing

So I was listening to the Wicked soundtrack today and realized how well it would work for a Westhallen AU? (I was also bemoaning to myself about how Fiyero/Elphie/Glinda should have been the end game but that’s a whole other story).

Like you have Barry, who has these strange speed powers that he can’t control that he got from an accident years before. Instead of green skin he has a Lichtenberg scar covering his whole body from the accident and he has a firm belief that there’s a crazy speedster hiding somewhere in the world that killed his mother. He goes to college and becomes roommates with this annoying, rich blonde guy named Eddie and meets and falls in love with this carefree and beautiful girl named Iris who of course clicks instantly with Eddie and starts dating him.

Eddie and Barry eventually become friends once Barry moves past his jealousy a little bit and Eddie is determined to make Barry become less socially awkward (which is a trip considering Eddie has a bad case of foot-in-mouth syndrome just like Barry does). All the while metahumans are disappearing and no one knows who is behind it and no one seems to be concerned much to Barry’s chagrin.

Eventually, Barry and Eddie decide to go to Central City to see Wells, the leader of their land and a well known scientist. They’re both rather put out to find out that Wells was actually a time traveler and the man who killed Barry’s mother. Barry ends up fleeing and Eddie decides that it’s better if he stays there, though he then gets coerced into being a figurehead by Wells’ underling Hartley Rathaway when he finds an old family heirloom that harnesses blue flames.

Iris, though rather happy to be engaged to Eddie, isn’t happy with the way Barry is being slandered by Wells and the rest of country and when she meets up with Barry by accident one day, she decides to flee with him. Eddie is heartbroken but understanding of the situation, though he doesn’t really get to tell Iris that.

Iris and Barry are happy and on the run together for a short time until another time traveler happens to the past and Wells sends them after Barry. Iris is injured just prior to this and Wells thinks she’s dead. Eddie and Barry meet up again as the time traveler is closing in on them and they make a plan to fake Barry’s death as well so he can run away with Iris without being chased by Central’s army or Wells. 

Eddie thinks that’s the last he’ll see of the two of them, but after Wells finds a way back to the future along with the time traveler, the couple seek him out and convince him to run away with them instead of ruling Central City in Wells’ place.

Like he's so affectionate and loves doing stuff for people it makes sense somehow??
