Hhh I remembered a sweetie called me theyngel the other night and honestly gosh...
Lavender? ;) and Honey
Lavender: relationship status? I have a girlfriend! And a girlfriend! And a QPP! I’m in a polycule!
Honey: your thoughts on magic-- does it exist? ...I think it might depend on how we define magic? But probably a little of each interpretation, and a lot of other interpretations. Like, a lot of tech and studies we can take for granted now would’ve been sorcery any farther back than a century, but some people are also followed around by the weirdest happenings, and some events still elude rational explanation, some because there isn’t a test available to prove what happened, only to disprove, and it held up against being disproven, or they’re too unpredictable to set up any means of proper study.
Years ago, in my teens, I wasn’t sure whether I was awake for this happening or if I dreamt it. I asked my mom the following morning if she’d been in my room (she hadn’t) because of this “scene” in which she was sat on the corner of my bed, in this pink polka-dotted gown, watching a very flashy thunderstorm. After watching her watch the storm for a moment, she said, “This is tornado weather.” And I, having been sleeping nude under the covers, said, “Well, I’d better get some pants on!”
At least a month passes, this was in the spring. This exact scene played out, right up to “well, I’d better get some pants on after all!”
So... I guess when applied outside of fiction, magic is so broadly defined that it groups too many things together to say it fully doesn’t exist. Sometimes, magic is unsolved science. Sometimes, it’s chaos and happenstance. Sometimes, it’s the process by which we do something that our heart and soul is in. Sometimes, it’s the very existence of life and consciousness.
