I’m begging all of the school people who follow me and can see this.

PLEASE strap up your bags so that they FIT COMFORTABLY on your shoulders.

I'm asking for the benefit of your back and your overall emotional wellbeing. Having a bag that doesn't constantly hit your knees every time you take a step does wonders on you.

Put on your school bag, and pull down the straps until your bag handles rest comfortably and firmly on your shoulders. Your shoulders should be taking the brunt of the weight, and be sure to place most of your books towards the back of your bag, where your shoulders are. The reason why bags are most padded there to provide comfort as you lift that load.

When you leave them loose and even hanging by a little bit, or to a large extent, you will feel like you're constantly being dragged down back to the ground. The weight will make you want to slouch to avoid tipping over backwards. It hits your knees or thighs and it's annoying.

And if you want some brutal honesty? I'm going to roll with the punches here.

It doesn't look good.

It doesn't make you look tough, or cool. It's sloppy, and it's only going to cause you trouble in the long run if you keep it up. Having your straps well-adjusted doesn't make you look like a goody two shoes nerd who loves going to school. It makes you look smart, smart enough to know how to take care of yourself.

So please. For the love of your body, your back, your posture and your wellbeing.

Adjust them straps. And do it now, before you forget.
