Headcanons about mojos bio dad I have (cw: cringe self indulgent bullshit that’s unnecessarily long)
Please note these are all mostly ass pulls that Ive concocted in my brain for shits and giggles. None of this is that deep lmao but I want it to be! Also this is an older drawing lmao it was an au piece
Also it’s all set in Japan cause obviously
Mojos father was apart of a science experiment to test prime mates in various positions of power to see how they’d operate under certain circumstances. He was immediately given the task of navy captain and received a crew of mostly human workers.
Jojo was around 5 when this all started and remembers none of it. his father tried his best to spend time with jojo, but was never able to get away from work for more than 5 minutes. His father was stern and hardheaded but his son held a special place in his heart. Only jojo could break this barrier his living conditions built for him and brought him back down to reality. He didn’t know how to be a proper father, but gosh darn it he cared!!!! And for a chimp who couldn’t speak a lick of Japanese(or English for that matter) he managed himself and his crew pretty well! Especially considering how many other apes apart of the experiment failed. The only thing that got to him was time. The dude died at 99
Also jojo probably didn’t have a name at this time because his dad couldn’t come up with a proper one and nobody else gave a shit
He was forced to leave at the age of 8, being transferred to a local animal shelter, and then a dealer from America, and then waited in an adoption centre for a bit before he was adopted by the professor. And you know how it goes from here
Anyway I think he doesn’t remember much of anything (maybe just the occasional fuzzy memory from the later years around the time he was sent off to the shelter) and probably had to find all this out through dna matching and research (I also think he did all the research he literally could. Looking for any kind of memorabilia or something)
Despite all of that tho, I also think he holds his father to a high regard even higher than the professor himself. Which is somewhat canon because of this exact model boat scene where he’s celebrating Father’s Day with his bio father, in a room surrounded by things related to sailing. Were they connected to his father??? Possibly. But knowing how often mojos place gets recked he probably doesn’t leave the “important stuff” out in the open. I think that if anyone were to ask about the portrait and his dad he’d ramble for hours about how much of a great guy he (assumes he) was!! And gets really defensive when people start to question the idea of a chimp captain. Anddd I think he’d try to be like his (perception of his) father towards his own “children.” In the same way he’d try to be the father the professor was not
I mentioned in my last post that mojos projects feelings onto his father so to expand a bit; he gets dreams of his father seeing the current version of him. They aren’t constant, really just once in a while. Which makes them hurt all the more. In some, his father congratulates his evil saying how proud he is of him! Which is just what he wants to hear. In others, he forgives his evil saying it was the only thing he COULD do. It’s not his fault!! It’s everyone else’s!! But again, that’s just what he wants to hear. In even less though, his father doesn’t say anything just looking at him in disappointment and disapproval of what his son has become. Certainly not what he wants to hear, but it’s a higher possibility than the other two
Blah blah blah mojo is tired of people never sticking around blah blah blah ok I’m done im sorry for how long this is
