Hiii, so I saw your artwork on Rohini and I js wanted to ask in which scripture the reference of her being related to Bahlika is given? I recall reading so on the net at some point, but I forgot where TvT TvT
Also, I think the Bahlika kingdom was somehow maternally related to Bahlika if I'm not wrong, no? And he gave up his right on the Kuru kingdom to go and rule there.
It's so funny how Parikshit isn't related to the Kurus through Bahlika and not Shantanu hehe
It's in either Harivamsha or Vishnu Purana...I quoted Dr. NP Bhaduri on this and he doesn't give citations for these kinds of things which he considers to be general knowledge 😂
Yes, Bahlika's mother Sunanda was from Shivi (Kashmir-ish). Bahlika takes control of that area, and then conquers the area almost up to modern-day Turkmenistan and renames the entire area after himself. However, he (or his descendants' someone) does keep coming back to Hastinapura, since he is mentioned to be a minister of the Kauravas as well (with his older brother Devapi as one of the purohits), and he fights in Kurukshetra.
And yeah, it's funny how that ended up like that 😂
