Updated stance on NERPALAND (Sergeyevna people):

1. THEY DIDN'T REPLY

2. An acquaintance shared a screenshot of her asking a person from nerpa spb about the situation. The person told her that they offered advice, however nerpaland didn't take it. And they're probably doing a lot of that stuff for social media clout instead of actually helping Sergeyevna.

3. I do believe their claims and the provided evidence of them releasing seals into the wild in years prior. Ultimately I believe they were more successful because they didn't have the insensitive to create cute videos for social media, as they didn't run any back then.

For those unaware: Nerpaland is a seal rehabilitation centre located near lake Baikal. They have started posting videos of nerpa Sergeyevna to YouTube , Facebook, Instagram and some other platforms some time ago. Many of them demonstrate the improper handling of the animal. While she is in a very good physical condition, the workers are being too nice to her, as in petting her, giving her hugs. It's bad because she is to be released back into the wilderness. Sergeyevna is too old for that, she might lose the fear of people (who are like. the biggest danger for Baikal seals).

In a recent clip Sergeyevna was shown to refuse food without the woman who spends most time with her presents, which is quite alarming. I understand that it's very cute to see a baby seal being pet and hugged and such, you should not support this organisation, because they are acting irresponsibly and risking the seals' lives
