Bailey woke up first. A rarity now that they'd moved in together. Instead of opening her eyes and wincing at the streaks of sunlight peaking through the curtains, she shuffled closer to Matt, draping a leg over him and getting as close as physically possible.
She started with soft, featherlight kisses on his cheek and against the shell of his ear, listening to the rise and fall of his chest as he continued to sleep soundly.
A hoarse hum of appreciation reached her ears and before she knew it, the two of them were leaving a gentle trail of kisses along the expanse of the other's skin. Half awake and still shrouded by the urge to sleep, it continued until Bailey cracked an eye open and leaned in to kiss him properly.
This is v much not going to happen but I love a good What If? moment lmao

"Bails?" Matt's face pinched with a frown as she looked up from the letter in front of her.
"It's a job offer..." she stated, still struck by surprise at the words printed before her eyes.
"What? That's great, where is it?" her gut twisted sharply and she swallowed hard before breaking the news.
"Brigham and Women's Hospital. In Boston. They want me to take on the Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology -" She looked at him again and the weight settled on her at the implication of what it meant.
"That's... Wonderful, Bailey. I - I'm so proud of you," Matt stated and moved forward to wrap her in a hug.
"I can't take it."
"What? Why? This is, like, your dream opportunity?"
"I can't leave you behind and I can't ask you to leave Chicago. I'm not taking it."

Jade:
is very light-fingered and when she was younger it got her in trouble more than once
has an unbreakable poker face and has mastered the art of lying/omitting truths
keeps her desk tidy and organised but decorated with pictures of her siblings; a lot of Tori, some old photos of her with Sam and Jackson but she never talks about them
it always makes her panic when people mistake her for Tori's mom because she doesn't believe she'd make a good parent, she just gets along as her legal guardian
she communicates a lot through non-verbal cues and body language
they always send her in first when vulnerable women or children are involved
once comfortable with someone, she expresses a lot through physical touch and she's a very affectionate person in the right circumstances but it takes a lot to get there
when upset, she withdraws and keeps to herself
I'd say Voight knew who she was when she was younger, their neighbourhood was a frequently visited place by CPD
bites her nails as a nervous habit

gets emotionally invested quickly - v much a ride or die for the right people
he fidgets a lot and I get the feeling that he wrings his hands together a lot

has a surprisingly loud, bossy streak when needed and it always shocks people when she has to yell or get someoneās attention
can sew and stitch and frequently makes small stuffed toys for any kids they might be called out to

"Matt?" He realised he'd been staring and shook off his daze.
"Just marry me already," he stated before he could stop the words falling from his mouth.
"Well, not for lack of trying -" She waved her left hand in front of his face, reminding him that he'd already proposed.
"I know but don't you wish it would happen a little quicker?" Bailey shuffled closer, tucking herself into his side to press a kiss to his cheek.

With Matt at least, they're on a similar wavelength. As soon as they get comfortable with one another, they air out their secrets/histories (Roland, Hallie, Gabby etc) over the course of several weeks until there's very little left to learn about one another in that regard.
As much as she can, Bailey let's herself be vulnerable with Matt because in her eyes that's part of loving someone too. Allowing yourself to express without fear of judgement.
