Fallacies About Bail Bonds Industry
It is time to shed light on the most common misconceptions in the bail bonds industry.
Fallacy #1: Bail Bondsmen are Bounty Hunters in sheep’s clothing.
Bail bondsmen are NOT bounty hunters. First and foremost, the job of a bail bondsman is to write bail bonds. Bounty hunters only appear on the scene when they are hired as a headhunter for fugitives skipping their bail. It is also important to note that there are states that consider bounty hunting illegal.
Fallacy #2: Bail and Bail bonds are the same things.
Bail and bail bond pertains to two different things. When you say bail, you are referring to the amount of money that you have to pay the court for your temporary release from custody; while bail bonds pertain to one of the methods in which you can settle your bail.
Fallacy #3: Bail bondsmen are all men.
It is a common misconception that only men can work as bail bondsmen. It is an inaccurate system because there are female bail bondsmen, too.
Hope this clears the misconceptions.
