yikes.. since none of that stuff ever got mentioned in the show. I just sort of went with the notion that every nation including usa and the soviet union started working together despite cold war tensions, to fend off the aliens

Yeah that was what I had assumed too, and that’s how I’ll continue to interpret it because that’s much better than the actual lore, unless the timeline on the wiki is inaccurate.

The Hawaii thing is still super funny though.

b/c rem (the blue one) got much more screen time and development/interactions than ram (the red one) and pretty much any other girl during re:zero’s first season.

I suppose that would make sense. I had kind of assumed they actually had a twin thing going so they’d often be together but if she had more screen time that would track

ding ding ding! we have a winner. 

Yeah that’s the one. Seriously their examples were so bad. Like comparing a lip flap shot from a tv anime to two theatrical films is wicked unfair, not to mention its just a loop of the lip flap when there was actually more to the acting in the full shot. The limited animation example could hardly be considered limited. Having a couple holds here and there =/= limited animation. Like use a gif from the powerpuff girls or a gif of Mako Mankanshoku or something. And the over animated one isn’t bad because it’s over animated, it’s because the timing is way too even and unnatural.

If anything, rwby is a series that has a lot of charm to it even if it isn’t the most polished thing ever. I stopped watching after the second season but something about each episode spanning from 8 to 20 minutes with not crude but not cinema quality 3D animated characters doing their thing without the need of subtitles felt cozy to watch.

Yeah, second season was about where I stopped too.

It was kind of charming, but definitely had that basement amateur type feel to it, and that’s kind of what I get hung up on the most. Because it’s moved beyond the personal project small studio level; it’s become a huge property with merchandise, overseas licensing, so the expectations are also somewhat higher.

But I was never quite satisfied with it even as it was; the concept and designs were fun, but the execution was always not quite up to par.

what's your favorite bionacle or bionacle character lineup?

Well, my favorite Bionicle sets are the Bohrok, easy. My favorite set of Toa was the Toa Nuva, with the original line-up a close second. Honorable mention is the Rahkshi for giving me those long legs with bendable knees. I used the SHIT out of those when free building.
