I'm the number one fan of who you are at 3 am.
Just watched my first gay themed Filipino indie film - @bakabukas - and now I feel even more depressed than when I watch straight romantic films. [Mild spoilers ahead] Naiyak ako sa part na umiiyak si Alex tapos kinomfort siya ng mom niya and told her that “It’s okay.” - grabe, tagos sa puso. May mga people from LGBT community tulad ni Alex who are considered lucky because they have an accepting family. But it shouldn’t be that way because parents should support and love their children regardless of what and who they are. Hindi ko rin makakalimutan yung line ni David na “Coming out isn’t just a one time thing. It’s your whole life.”, pati line ni Alex na “The hardest part of coming out is not knowing whether the ones you love most will stay.” because unfortunately, they’re right. Coming out is never easy; it is something that people like me have to go through many times, to continue to explain to people your sexuality and hope they understand at tanggap ka nila.
Thank you @givemesam for making a film that matters! Thank you @jascurtissmith and @louise.dr ! You guys deserve all the recognition in the world. 💕🌈
