These butter cookies are ideal for cutting out fun and delicious shapes. They have a delectable buttery flavor and a tender texture that will make them a crowd pleaser.
Ingredients: 1 cup unsalted butter, softened. 1 cup granulated sugar. 1 large egg. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. 1/2 teaspoon salt.
Instructions: Melt the butter and mix it with the sugar in a bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until everything is well mixed. Add the all-purpose flour and salt slowly while mixing the ingredients together until a dough forms. There are two equal pieces of dough. Roll each one into a disc and cover it with plastic wrap. Put it in the fridge for at least an hour. Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on baking sheets. Take one disc of dough out of the fridge and roll it out to the thickness you want on a floured surface. After rolling out the dough, use cookie cutters to cut it into shapes. Then, move the shapes to the baking sheets that have been prepared. Get any extra dough, roll it out again, and keep cutting shapes out of it. After the oven is hot, bake the cookies for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes on the baking sheets before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way. Use the other disc of dough to do the rolling, cutting, and baking steps again. You can put icing on them, sprinkles on them, or leave them plain once the cookies are completely cool. Have fun!
