We took our talents to the town of Baldwin City, KS to shoot the oficial promo trailer for Baker University’s “Project CHIRP,” a movement that fights the presence of Capitalism, Heterosexism, Imperialism, Racism, & Patriarchy. The shoot was very intense and focused, and the students all contributed without any problems. The video was also colored in bluish hue in order to give a “cold” feel to the project,

Baker University's Wildcat Classic
I'm sitting here in the gym at Baker University in Baldwin City, KS for the Baker Wildcat Classic. Each time, as I drive into Baldwin City, I feel like I'm driving back in time, to where so much of our history (in college basketball) began.
For the last 10-15 miles before you get into Baldwin City, there are more cows than people....truly. It's a rather isolated small town, yet this area is just dripping with basketball history.
This is where Emil Liston coached. As you may be aware, Emil Liston is the founding father and driving force behind the creation of America's first collegiate basketball National Championship, which later became the NAIA. Emil Liston is now in the Naismith Hall of Fame, and of course, the Baker Hall of Fame. There is a bit of a shrine to Emil Liston in the build in which I now sit.
Just about 15-20 miles up the road from Baldwin City is the grave of Liston's friend, James Naismith. Of course, it was Naismith that founded our great game of basketball. It was Naismith that helped Liston get college basketball's first National Championship started in Kansas City. It was Naismith - and not many people know this - that left in his will that the National Championship trophy be named after his wife, Maude.
On the way here, I drive through Gardner. Gardner is the home of the late Frank Cramer. It was in Cramer's kitchen in Gardner where the three men (Liston, Naismith & Cramer) conspired about the details of this national championship, that now enters its 78th year.
So it is here that I sit this evening.....and I love it!
