Made this Kerokeropi inspired buns using @dressacake ‘s recipe today and they are so fragrant and fluffy! And it’s so cute 🐸 would definitely make it again! @dressacake made this buns using the @mayerspore Mayer 5.5L Stand Mixer. They are hosting a giveaway I would love to recreate this recipe with the stand mixer if I win the giveaway! It comes with a dough hook and will make kneading dough so easy 😄 Swipe right to see me tearing open the fluffy bun. 🐒 As I didn’t have kaya I replaced the filling with shredded coconut. The features are drawn with melted chocolate. You must be wondering why I’m posting photos of making traditional wanton from scratch. @mayerspore & @mfa_dingoozatfood are kindly doing a giveaway for a Mayer 5.5L Stand Mixer and I would love to win it! Stand mixers are versatile and it’s not just meant for baking sweets and bread, it can also be used to make dough and other savoury dishes using the dough hook attachment. It’s sturdy built and metal accessories will make kneading a breeze, and making these delish dishes is a great way to bond with family. Pictured is a traditional northern Chinese dumpling known as 混沌 (wanton) but quite different from the version we have in Singapore. Grandma makes the best wanton and even though she taught me how, I found it tedious to knead the dough, prepare the filling, make the wanton and cook the soup. (Obviously I found taking photos easier) With Mayer’s stand mixer, I could complete the steps (kneading dough, mixing filling) with less effort and recreate these traditional homemade dishes. I’ll also be using my Mayer Chopper and Blender to chop/blend the filling (and isn’t the ice blue shade lovely?) It’s not that hard with the right tools! Aside from wanton, you can make delicious homemade noodles (swipe right to see picture). Thank you grandma for making these delicious traditional goodies and teaching me these recipes passed down generations.
