I’ve been a bit absent in the gwenposting department whoopsee
I think I said this in the tags of a post a while ago, but Cecil calling her comic awareness “her Truman Show thing” as a dismissal is really fucking funny to me because the whole point of the Truman Show is that he is actually on the Truman Show. Like. Truman is right.
(I didn’t feel like finishing all the Gwen’s)
All or nothing duo strikes again
This looked funnier in my head
possibly the greatest thing about gwenpool is that by all accounts and general comic book bullshit (to be reinforced in gwenpool 2025 wow that one was bad) she is set up to be an alternate universe gwen stacy who for whatever reason got strapped into the weapon x project and turned into deadpool. par for the course in the everyone-is-related-to-spider-man and we-have-to-capitalize-on-popular-movies-by-any-means-necessary company. what if deadpool had an alternate universe gwen like imagine the deadpool movie crossed with the spiderverse movie. throw it on a variant cover. generate interest. fuckin sure whatever throw chris hastings on a book. capitalize capitalize capitalize. okay lets check out this book.
her name is gwen poole. no relation to the stacy family. no relation to deadpool. she actually hates deadpool. and she will be subtextually transgender. sometimes things end up all right.

Marvel characters: This is Gwenpool, she’s an unstable, deluded girl who genuinely believes that she comes from another reality where we’re all comic book characters. Obviously, that’s too ridiculous to even consider, so she must be crazy. No, we can’t explain how she knows so much about everyone, nor how she seems to bend reality to her will. She must just be a powerful mutant. Oh now she’s saying that she recently made herself a mutant through something called a “retcon.” Sigh. Poor, confused young woman. We hope she gets the help she needs.
DC characters: This is Superboy Prime. He says he’s from a reality where we’re all comic book characters. Okay, that makes sense. Have a nice day, kid, please don’t go evil again and kill everyone.
