One fine evening I wanted to bake chips in my oven and like an obedient citizen I used baking parchment on my tray. Somehow this very sheet of baking parchment lit on fire for god knows what reasons and suddenly I held a very quickly burning sheet of baking parchment in my hand and the flame got considerably bigger and I thought huh, that doesn’t seem convenient and panicked and put the sheet of baking parchment in my sink and splashed water onto it, forgetting what I learned from science shows which is that you should never, under any circumstances, use water on a very oily burning parchment paper and there was a moment the flame got really big and I panicked even more, grabbed what was left of the sheet of baking parchment and threw it out the window on our balcony.
My kitchen didn’t burn down, however I knocked my Sherlock Holmes mug off the table when I tried to remove the remaining shreds of burned baking parchment and that’s almost as bad.
