A voracious levitating Titan with an eerie pale glow, Bakunawa is a giant shark-like creature who may seem alien at first, but further analysis shows that he is from Earth. His devastating beam dubbed “The Lunar Lazer” is known for its ability to silently decay everything in its path, and his bite force is one of the strongest of any living being recorded, being able to chomp through the strongest metal alloys with ease. Bakunawa was first discovered back in the 1997 around the Antarctic Circle with a series of strange roars popularized as “The Bloop”. Monarch Scientists have covered the MUTO’s calls as an icequake to divert the public’s attention. Outpost 97 only was built around it many years after the discovery since the creature decided to remain dormant in the Mariana Trench. Unfortunately, it was destroyed moments after it was built because Monster Zero awakened the Titans, leading him to attack the island of Guam. Bakunawa was only named after Godzilla reclaimed his role as Alpha, with it deriving from a dragon from Filipino folklore infamous for swallowing the moon, sometimes even six. Outpost 357 is the new designated base of study, located on the far side of the moon, as it frequently migrates there. This chaotic creature is known to have a symbiotic relationship with Scylla, though they are uncoordinated and frequently clash with one another. Some sightings and reports even claim he damaged her shell, causing her molt early to grow a new one
Fun fact: I gave him a symbiotic relationship with Scylla because I wanted to reference another Filipino myth of a giant (unrelated) moon eating crab named Tambanokano who apparently has lightning eyes (not that Scylla has em but she’s still a giant “crab”)
Also I wanted a silly villain duo in the Monsterverse just like Gigan and Megalon because that’d be fun

The outpost numbers were based on the years the bloop was first discovered (1997) and when the Quiet Rapture happened in Iron Lung (357 EIC)
The reason I made the shark levitate is because we have only have a handful of levitating kaiju (like Gigan and Spacegodzilla) and the Monsterverse (as of now) doesn’t have any. Besides, flying shark looks weird and flying in general is a bit overrated
